About
Permit to operate any regulated elevator, escalator, dumbwaiter, construction personnel hoist, wind tower lift, moving walk or lift.

Who Applies The owner of covered equipment or the owner\'s agent must apply. The application for an installation permit doubles as the application for an operating permit.
When To Apply Installation permit application should take place at least two months before installing new equipment. Annual applications are not required.
Initial Requirements Equipment must pass inspection before an operating permit will be issued. Subsequent operating permits are issued by the agency after required inspections, safety tests, and repairs are complete and fees are received.
Duration One year.
Processing Time Two weeks for issuance of operating permit.
Fee Structure $75.
Renewal Requirements Does not pertain.
