For Iowa native wine manufacturers. Allows for the manufacture and sale of native wine at wholesale to licensed retailers and wine to other wine wholesalers. Also allows for the sale of native wine at retail at the winery for off-premises consumption. Native wine is wine that is fermented in Iowa by a native winery.

Who Applies A winery located in Iowa desiring to manufacture and sell native wine at wholesale or retail.

When To Apply Before selling native wine to retailers, other wine wholesalers or to the public.

Initial Requirements - Filing of a $5,000 surety bond - A Basic Permit issued by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau of the U.S. Department of Treasury (TTB) - Proof of control of the property to be licensed (deed, lease, final sales contract) - Sketch of the premises to be licensed - Proof of zoning

Duration 12 months

Processing Time 45 days

Fee Structure $100

Renewal Requirements Permit must be renewed on an annual basis. Same requirements as when the permit was initially issued.
