For non-profit entities. Allows an authorized non-profit entity to auction beer, alcoholic liquor and wine during an event which raises funds solely to be used for educational, religious or charitable purposes. The permit is valid for 36 consecutive hours, and the authorized non-profit entity may receive up to two permits per calendar year.

Who Applies Nonprofit entities who intend to auction beer, spirits and/or wine at an event to raise funds for educational, religious, or charitable purposes.

When To Apply Prior to auctioning beer, spirits and/or wine.

Initial Requirements Obtain beer, spirits or wine from an Iowa retailer or receive donations of beer, spirits or wine from persons who purchased the donated beer, spirits or wine from an Iowa retailer. Must receive receipt documenting the purchase of the beer, spirits or wine and retain a copy for one year from the date of the auction. Nonprofit entity is eligible to receive only 2 auction permits during a calendar year.

Duration A period not to exceed 36 consecutive hours.

Processing Time 45 days.
