Who Applies Any person who leases a breeding bull to an Iowa resident must obtain a license.

When To Apply Application must be made and a license issued before leasing begins.

Initial Requirements The Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship will issue a tag if requested to be attached to each bull in order for all bulls to be registered in the State of Iowa. Bull Breeder`s premises are subject to inspection (facility and/or records) by the Iowa Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship.

Duration Licenses are renewed biennially and expire on the second July 1 following the date of issuance.

Processing Time 10 days.

Fee Structure License: $20 Renewal: Biennially $20

Exam Does not pertain.

Additional Information Negative brucellosis blood test required within six months of movement. Certificate of Veterinary Inspection issued by an Iowa licensed accredited veterinarian required to accompany movement of bulls.
