Registration by brood mare owners of expected foals of the mares. Registration makes the foal eligible to be Iowa foaled thoroughbred, quarter horse, standard bred.

Who Applies Current owner of brood mare.
When To Apply Apply anytime (spring/summer) prior to prefoal inspections.
Initial Requirements 1. Iowa Broodmare application completed. 2. Mare status report completed. 3. Copy of certification of registration showing ownership.
Duration One time application, unless ownership changes.
Processing Time 3 days or less, once all paper work is on file.
Fee Structure $30 – due at time of application.
Renewal Requirements None, unless ownership changes.
