A professional boxer is a person who boxes for compensation or a prize.

Who Applies A person wishing to box professionally in the United States or Canada must apply with their home state commission. If the person\'s home state does not have a boxing commission, they may apply in a state where they plan to box.
When To Apply Before competing in any professional boxing match.
Initial Requirements Applicants must call 515.745.2632 for an appointment and apply in person at 150 Des Moines Street, Des Moines, Iowa.
Duration Two years.
Processing Time 30 days.
Fee Structure $25.
Renewal Requirements Renewal is handled the same way as new applications.
Exam None.
