Electric Transmission Franchises

Iowa Utilities Board

About

If your business requires electric transmission service (69kV or more), the transmission provider must obtain a franchise from the Iowa Utilities Board (IUB). Contact your local utility to determine the need for additional transmission services. Contact the IUB if you need assistance in determining your local utility. The utility will file a petition for the electric transmission franchise from the IUB.
