No person shall test or repair a backflow prevention assembly unless the person is a registered backflow prevention assembly tester.

Who Applies Any person qualified by training.

When To Apply Initial: within 12 months of training. Renewal: July 1-October 31 of odd-numbered years.

Initial Requirements Completed a department approved 32-training class or has completed a course of training in another state upon approval or is certified or is registered in a jurisdiction that has similar or greater training requirements.

Duration 2 years, renew in odd-numbered years.

Processing Time within 30-days.

Fee Structure Initial: prorated depending on application date. Renewal: $72, penalty for late renewal.

Renewal Requirements 5 continuing education hours per biennium.

Exam None.
