For non-profit entities with a principal office in the state, nonprofit corporations organized under Iowa Code chapter 504, or a foreign corporation as defined in Iowa Code section 504.141 whose income is exempt from federal taxation under section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code. Allows an authorized non-profit entity to  auction beer, alcoholic liquor, and wine during an event which raises funds solely to be used for educational, religious, or charitable purposes. Also allows an authorized non-profit entity to host a charity event and serve alcoholic beverages using another business\’s retail alcohol license. The license is valid for 36 consecutive hours, and the authorized non-profit entity may receive up to two licenses per calendar year.

Who Applies Non-profit entities who intend to conduct an auction and sell alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption, or conduct an event at which alcoholic beverages are served for on-premises consumption, or both an auction and an event.

Initial Requirements Applicant must be an “authorized nonprofit entity,” which includes a nonprofit entity which has a principal office in the state, a nonprofit corporation organized under Iowa Code chapter 504, or a foreign corporation as defined in Iowa Code section 504.141, whose income is exempt from federal taxation under section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Duration A period not to exceed 36 consecutive hours.
