Who Applies Any individual or organization wishing to sell beer at retail in original, unopened containers or in a container other than the original, a growler, that is in compliance with the law and Division rules.

When To Apply Before selling beer to retail customers for consumption off the premises.

Initial Requirements Application requires the endorsement of the local authority and observance of local ordinances governing licensed establishments, an Iowa Sales Tax Permit, and a Federal Occupational Tax Permit 513.684.2979. A Sunday Sales Privilege is required for sale of beer on Sundays. Applicant Qualifications: Applicant must be 21 years of age or older, an U.S. citizen and an Iowa resident or a registered corporation, having no felony convictions within the past 5 years, possessing \”good moral character\” as defined in the Iowa Code section 123.3(34) and good financial standing.

Duration One year.

Processing Time 45 days.

Fee Structure Fees are based on the square footage of the establishment\’s retail sales area and range from $75 to $360.
