For wholesale beer distributors. Allows for the sale of beer, high alcoholic content beer, and canned cocktails at wholesale to licensed retailers and to other beer wholesalers (in and out of state).

Who Applies For wholesale beer distributors

When To Apply Before the wholesale sale of beer to Iowa licensed retailers.

Initial Requirements – Filing of a $10,000 surety bond – A Federal Basic Permit issued by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau of the U.S. Department of Treasury (TTB) – Proof of control of the property to be licensed (deed, lease, final sales contract) – Sketch of the premises to be licensed – Proof of zoning

Duration 12 months

Processing Time 45 days

Fee Structure $750

Renewal Requirements Permit must be renewed on an annual basis. Same requirements as when the permit was initially issued.
