Who Applies Anyone who wishes to handle precursor substances in Iowa and who receives precursor substances from a source outside Iowa.

When To Apply A person or entity located in Iowa, before purchasing, transferring, or otherwise receiving a precursor substance from a source outside the state, must obtain a precursor substances permit.

Initial Requirements May be required to obtain a List I chemical registration from the federal Drug Enforcement Administration in addition to the Iowa Precursor Substances permit

Duration License expires on December 31 of each year.

Processing Time Fifteen business days.

Fee Structure Permit: $180 Penalty fee for late payment an additional $180.

Renewal Requirements Completion and submission of renewal application and renewal fee.

Exam Does not pertain.
