Who Applies Any person engaged in the business of distributing or wholesaling new motor vehicles, rescue and/or fire vehicles or special equipment to Iowa licensed dealers.

When To Apply Application must be made and a license issued before distribution or wholesaling begins.

Initial Requirements Applicants must submit a copy of written authorization from the manufacturer. (Only applies to those distributors/wholesalers of new vehicles. Does not apply to rescue/fire and special equipment.)

Duration Licenses are valid until the end of even-numbered years and must be renewed.

Processing Time 30 days to review any application and 5 days for processing time.

Fee Structure License: $40

Renewal Requirements Renewals will be mailed to the licensee in October prior to the December expiration.
