Application to the Department of Natural Resources must be made for a cans and bottles redemption center to be \”approved.\” All redemption centers are to be Registered with the DNR whether \’approved\’ or not.

Who Applies Redemption centers wanting to be \”approved\” for stores selling deposit beverage containers in order to exempt the stores from redeeming deposit containers and to then direct customers to the redemption center for redemption of deposit containers. All redemption centers are to be Registered with the DNR whether \’approved\’ or not.

When To Apply Application can be made at any time. The application must be processed for \’approval\’ prior to the store refusing to accept deposit containers from consumers.

Initial Requirements A signed written \’consent\’ from the store must accompany the redemption center\’s application for \’approval\’.

Duration No expiration date. If in the future the redemption center is no longer deemed to provide a convenient service for consumers, then the \’approval\’ may be rescinded.

Processing Time 30 days.
