Podiatrists diagnose and treat ailments of the human foot and ankle. A licensed podiatric physician may administer local anesthesia.

Who Applies Person\’s who are eligible to practice as podiatric physicians in Iowa.
When To Apply After all educational requirements for licensure have been met.
Initial Requirements Graduation from an accredited school of podiatry approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) of the American Podiatric Medical Association and pass Part III (PMLexis) of the National Board of Podiatry Medical Examiners exam.
Duration 6 to 29 months for initial, 2 years for renewal.
