License to conduct regulated athletic events.
Code Citation IC 90A
Who Applies Any promoter of a mixed martial arts, professional boxing, professional wrestling, or professional kickboxing event held in Iowa, excluding events held on a Native American reservation.
When To Apply At least 7 days before a wrestling event or at least 60 days before other events.
Initial Requirements Posting of a $5,000 surety or cash bond conditioned on the payment of the tax and penalties imposed by Iowa Code Chapter 90A.
Duration Each license is for the day of the event.
Processing Time Five days.
Fee Structure Application fee for license, plus Athletic Commission admissions tax of 5% of the gross receipts less sales tax. The wrestling license fee is $100. The license fee for all other events is $450.
Renewal Requirements Does not pertain.
