Community mental health centers must be accredited by the state in order to be funded to participate in the Iowa Medicaid program. A community mental health center must meet state standards that serve as the foundation of a performance-based review of those accredited organizations by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, Behavioral Health Services Division.

Duration Initial accreditation is valid for 270 calendar days with one or three year recertification.
