A case management provider serving persons with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, or developmental disabilities must meet specific standards, based on the principles of quality improvement, to ensure efficient and effective management and the provision of quality services.

Who Applies An organization providing case management services to individuals diagnosed with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, or developmental disabilities or administering a facility in which these services are provided must meet state standards to be accredited in the State of Iowa.
When To Apply An application may be submitted at any time.
Initial Requirements Contact the Division of Behavioral Health Services for more information.
Duration Initial accreditation is valid for 270 calendar days, then one year or three year accreditations are awarded.
Processing Time Approximately 3 months.
